About the event
My fondest memories are of walking around Montreal with my dad while he pointed out different buildings. He taught me that they weren't just "offices" or "apartments"—they were beautiful, full of history, and intentional. I want to share how I bring that same sense of discovery to my students. Join me and an intimate group of 15 educators to use architecture as a bridge between art, math, and the world outside the classroom.
In this session, you’ll:
Analyze Form and Function: Explore contemporary architects who combine creativity with environmental problem-solving to engage student interest.
Integrate Math & Art: Practice strategies for bringing geometry, patterns, and spatial reasoning into art lessons in a way that feels organic.
Build a Project: Design a classroom-ready project together—mixing drawing and structural composition—that is adaptable for all learners.
Drive Discussion: Use sketching and writing prompts to get students thinking critically about the spaces they inhabit every day.
